She Doesn't See My Scars, She Thinks I'm Beautiful
Blade Runner
Reproduction of Oil and Mixed media on cotton canvas
$100.00
I was truly inspired by the story of a whale called Blade Runner. She was hit by a boat propeller and survived, resulting in deep scars along her back. She was later spotted with a calf. Thinking about how the calf saw its mother led me to reflect on how our children perceive us. They do not look at us with a critical eye, the way that we see ourselves in a mirror. They do not see our scars and our imperfections; they think we are beautiful, and they love us just the way we are!
